My son was 6 weeks old. A small plane, 2 seats each side of the aisle. No space to change a diaper in the bathroom, so had to hold him on my lap while changing him. Man (stranger) sitting next to me did not enjoy this. Since I had to hold baby on my lap the whole flight, I couldn’t eat the meal the stewardess brought for me. Commercials of the period were all about how helpful stewardi were to passengers (many were former nurses at that time), so I was pretty disillusioned by the experience. But at least I didn’t have to go through a scanner or take off my shoes.
